1.In addition to its primary function of controlling valve position, the Fisher DVC6200S positioner offers two additional capabilities: diagnostics and two-way digital communication.

 

2.The microprocessor within the DVC6200S digital valve controller enables the positioner to execute, analyze, and store diagnostic tests.

 

3.The digital valve positioner's microprocessor also allows it to communicate with the control system via digital signals. This enables the digital valve controller to provide the control system with additional feedback-such as actual valve travel and diagnostic alarms.

 

4.The DVC6200S supports a widely adopted protocol: HART communication. HART communication utilizes digital signals superimposed upon traditional 4–20 mA DC control signals. This communication protocol allows a host system to configure, calibrate, and monitor the positioner's operation. HART communication offers the benefits of digital communication while seamlessly integrating with industry-standard 4–20 mA control systems.
